NEW!

We are pleased to announce the addition of four new columns to The Appalachian Quarterly

From the Hills of Appalachia – In this column you can ask any question you want about life in the Appalachian Mountains. You can ask to correspond with people of similar interest. Interested in Appalachian Mountain Recipes…then place a query. Interested in Appalachian Mountain Ghost Towns…place a query. Interested in Appalachian Mountain Coal Camps…then by all means place a query. We all have questions about our Appalachian Heritage…let’s share them and meet new friends.

I Remember…here we tell our tales of the things that we remember about growing up in the Appalachians. Or tell the stories that your family told you about their early days. How about your memories of World War II? Please note some of our memories in this issue and we look forward to you sharing yours.

Reaching Out…Searching for Appalachian Families. In this column we will feature a photo…if you have one, please email or send one that doesn’t have to be returned…tell what history you know and then ask any questions that you have. Let our members help you find your missing family links.

Children of the Appalachians…in this column we would like our members who have moved away to tell about their ancestor…parents…grandparents, etc. who left the Appalachians for Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Washington, Texas…all the states where they settled. Send us their photo, by email or one that doesn’t have to be returned… tell us their story and why did they leave.

On all columns, please send your response so that we can print them in upcoming issues of the magazine for the enjoyment of all. If you want your address included in your queries, please let us know…otherwise we will print only your name and responses can be sent in care of The Appalachian Quarterly.
